ING Australia
ING has made a number of key adviser-focussed appointments over recent weeks:
Rob McNeill has been appointed to the role of Victorian Distribution Manager - Life Risk. Mr McNeill joins ING from Macquarie Life, and will relocate from Brisbane to Melbourne for the role.
Mr McNeill’s background includes time spent as a financial adviser and is known for his life risk technical capabilities, including detailed knowledge of business insurance issues. He commences with ING on 25 May.
Taylor Thao joins ING as Life Risk Business Development Manager (Queensland). Mr Thao has eight years’ experience in the financial services industry, including positions with Asteron and with ING over the last two years as a Business Development Associate.
Protip DasGupta will commence with ING on 18 May in the role of NSW Distribution Manager - Life Risk, coinciding with the launch of the ING’s OneCare product enhancements. Mr DasGupta is well respected in the industry and has held previous BDM positions with Macquarie, MLC and most recently with Zurich Australia.
UniSuper
UniSuper has announced the appointment of Chris Davies to the new role of Executive Manager, Financial Planning.Mr Davies joins Unisuper from his previous position as Head of Advice Services at BT Financial Group. He has more than 30 years experience in superannuation and financial services and as a solicitor specialising in superannuation, life insurance and investment products.
Unisuper advised that Mr Davies will commence in May, and will be responsible for a new team of financial planners to be located throughout Australia, as well as a national phone-based Financial Assessment Centre.
MLC & NAB Wealth
Also commencing in May will be Richard Nunn, who has been appointed Executive General Manager, Advice & Marketing for MLC & NAB Wealth. Mr Nunn’s appointment completes the new Executive Committee line-up for Group Executive, MLC & NAB Wealth, Steve Tucker.
Mr Nunn will be responsible for the NAB Financial Planning, MLC Advice Solutions, MLC Sales and MLC Marketing businesses. The current heads of these businesses, Geoff Rogers (NAB Financial Planning), Greg Miller (MLC Advice Solutions), Peter Greenaway (MLC Sales) and Scott Graham (MLC Marketing), will continue to run their existing portfolios.
Mr Nunn joins the organisation from the CBA where he was most recently Head of Commonwealth Private Bank.
