Key FSP Appointment

Financial Services Partners has announced the appointment of Steve Thomson to the position of Head of Business Development.

In what is a newly created position within the top twenty dealer group, Mr Thomson’s role will focus on:

  • Recruiting new firms
  • Helping existing firms with their recruitment and acquisition needs
  • Identifying new revenue opportunities for Financial Services Partners
Mr Thomson told riskinfo that in relation to adviser remuneration he believes that any existing remuneration model is appropriate as long as the client clearly understands and is comfortable with, the cost of the advice and the way the adviser will receive their remuneration.

In welcoming Mr Thomson to FSP, CEO, Geoff Rimmer said “Steve is already familiar with our business through some recent consulting work and is well qualified to undertake this role based on his experience over many years. He has a wealth of experience in advice distribution, and importantly, understands adviser businesses and what it takes for them to be successful”

Prior to joining FSP, Mr Thomson was Managing Director of ING Financial Planning and Chief Operating Officer of ING Advice.  He commenced his new role with effect from 1 July.
