Asteron reports it has ‘gone green’ to mark the receipt of its 5,000th application from its Lifeguard online EQ platform.
The company says it has donated $5,000 to the Carbon Neutral organisation, representing $1 for every online proposal it has received, and in doing so has focused attention on the issues of conservation and green-house gases.
Asteron General Manager, Jordan Hawke, points out that a typical paper-based application can be up to 20 pages long:
“For every 25 applications that are submitted online through Lifeguard EQ, one ream of paper is saved, which equates to less trees felled, and less harmful CO2 gases entering the atmosphere,” said Mr Hawke, who added:
“In fact, in reaching the 5,000th application benchmark, already we’ve saved 12 trees and over a tonne of CO2.”
Asteron says it has set the industry benchmark for straight-through processing of applications, making life easier for advisers with on-the-spot decisions or ‘referred’ applications sent directly to the inbox of an adviser’s dedicated Underwriter.
Mr Hawke concluded by saying ”Asteron is committed to a greener Australia and is pleased to be making a difference with Lifeguard EQ. This is why it’s significant that we pass this milestone by committing to support the valuable work of Carbon Neutral.”
