Synchron Group reports its 2009 Next Generation Program has been an outstanding success.
Recently held over three days, this year’s Program (first run in 2006) focused on delivering soft selling skills and technology expertise to the industry’s younger and less experienced advisers.
Participants in this year’s Program included younger Synchron advisers as well as advisers from other dealer groups, life company business development managers and other industry participants.
advisers… will not be successful unless they actually fulfil their promises …
Well-known adviser and industry consultant, Sam Leon, shared with the participants the importance of communication skills in developing and maintaining client relationships. According to Mr Leon, advisers can possess all the product knowledge and compliance qualifications required, but they will not be successful unless they actually fulfil their promises and establish ongoing trust with their clients.
Another key element of the Program saw industry consultant, Michael Harrison, demonstrate how to leverage new technology to assist advisers run more efficient businesses and find new ways of communicating and maintaining relationships with their clients through use of vehicles such as Twitter, Skype and Facebook.
Synchron Director, Paul Riegelhuth, said there is not a lot of support being provided by the industry in the area of soft selling skills and this was one way that Synchron could deliver value back to the industry.
Because Synchron has opened its Program to the broader industry, the participants have also benefited from developing peer networking opportunities, which has added to the value of their involvement and to the Program itself.
Synchron’s Next Generation Program is set to grow further over coming years, with Mr Riegelhuth observing that four years ago the dealer ‘dipped its toe in the water’, but now it can’t see the shore.
