AFA Statement to Ripoll Inquiry
The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has recently followed up its submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee Inquiry into Financial Products and Services with an appearance before the Committee, in which it stated its position on key industry issues.
Presented by AFA CEO, Richard Klipin, the AFA acknowledged ‘…the shocking circumstances’ which have led to the financial ruin of many former clients of Storm Financial and other corporate collapses.
‘…the past 12 months has been “Open Season” on financial advisers
At the same time, the AFA said it welcomed the Ripoll Inquiry because the failure of Storm and others had led to the maligning of an entire profession: “In essence the past 12 months has been “Open Season” on financial advisers, as we have been blamed for every ill of the Global Crisis.
