Aviva has released ‘an Australian first’ with the launch of its Riskfirst mylink underwriting package.
In what the insurer describes as a ‘quantum leap’ in online underwriting technology, mylink is a technology solution that enables advisers to email their clients the Personal Statement to complete in the privacy of their own home.
According to Aviva, mylink offers advisers and clients a ‘win-win’ solution by:
- Making it easier for clients to complete important information if they are remote based or time poor and face-to-face meetings are hard to arrange
- Removing potential discomfort between adviser and client when it comes to responding to sensitive and personal questions
- Enabling the client to provide supporting information that they may not have on hand in a face-to-face meeting with the adviser
Aviva adds that if advisers have clients who are not as technologically savvy as others, the mylink help menu will guide users along the way if they get stuck.

Aviva’s Distribution Development Manager, Protection, Russell Hannah, said “Riskfirst mylink offers new heights in flexibility and intuitiveness. Other enhancement s to Aviva’s Riskfirst online underwriting package include:
- Flexibility to complete applications non-sequentially, offering greater control when filling out applications
- Enhanced ‘Transpose’ paper application method, where Aviva’s Protectionfirst paper application form is scanned and converted into an online proposal
Aviva advises these enhancements come into effect from 25 September 2009, together with updates to the company’s Protectionfirstproduct range, previously reported in riskinfo: Aviva Enhances Protectionfirst, Riskfirst.
With these enhancements to riskfirst , Aviva is positioning its package against others in the market as one that offers ‘…unparalleled flexibility, from start to finish.’
