ING Podium Advisers Talk to Bernie Ripoll

Advisers participating in ING’s Podium Professional Development Program had a rare opportunity recently to not only hear Bernie Ripoll MP speak, but also follow up with some one-on-one discussions.

Mr Ripoll, who Chairs the Parliamentary Joint Committee Inquiry into Financial Products and Services in Australia, was a guest of ING Australia as it presented the third round of its ‘Podium’ Professional Development Events during September.

Participating advisers heard Mr Ripoll explain the role and scope of his Inquiry and what is involved in the normal processes of the Report, both before and after it has been delivered.

In the presentations, Mr Ripoll allowed ample time for questions from advisers and also took the opportunity to further promote discussion with advisers by sitting with several different groups during the course of each of the events.

Feedback suggests advisers thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the (rare) opportunity to casually discuss with Mr Ripoll key issues and concerns they have for the financial services industry.

Kevin Goss, ING Australia’s Head of Life Risk Sales said, “ING’s reputation as being a strong advocate for advice was further cemented by providing this unique environment for advisers to have direct access to Mr Ripoll.”

Many advisers from around the country … have stated it was one of the best and most important events they have ever attended

“Many advisers from around the country who attended the event have stated it was one of the best and most important events they have ever attended,” said Mr Goss.

Held in all major capital cities, the Podium Professional Development series is designed as a life risk leadership and professional development program comprising a series of invitation-only events aimed at building the value of advisers’ businesses and developing productive business relationships.

The Ripoll Inquiry is due to deliver its Report on Financial Products and Services in Australia to the Federal Government on 23 November 2009.
