AFA President and long-time financial adviser, Jim Taggart, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in this year’s Australia Day Honours List.
Recognised for his work in his community, Mr Taggart’s citation was for:
“… service to the community of Baulkham Hills through a range of service, charitable and sporting organisations.”
Mr Taggart has managed and run his financial advice practice since 1987, now operating under his own AFSL licence with the Taggart Group.
His passion for his work has has inspired many within the financial services industry, and he carries the same passion to all other aspects of his life.
AFA CEO, Richard Klipin, said the advice profession needs advisers who aspire to the high standard set by Dr Taggart:
Jim has provided advisers with a yardstick with which to measure their own commitment to the profession
“Jim has provided advisers with a yardstick with which to measure their own commitment to the profession. He has invested in his own education, his own business, his community, the broader community and the advice industry.”
“In a nutshell, he has made a commitment to excellence and practises what he preaches. He is an outstanding example to his peers and an inspiration to younger advisers,” said Mr Klipin.
