Key Appointments

Asteron and MLC have announced key insurance underwriting and sales appointments over the last week:

Asteron

Long-time Aviva underwriter, Michael Schram, has been appointed as Asteron’s Risk Assessment Manager for the insurer’s Victoria and Tasmania operations.

Mr Schram held a variety of underwriting team leadership roles during his many years at Aviva and is well regarded by advisers and fellow underwriters.

Asteron Executive Manager, Risk Assessment, John Kraszula said Mr Schram will work closely with Victoria/Tasmania State Manager Paul Chapman to further align the company’s sales and risk assessment teams, in order to provide a better outcome for advisers and their clients.

MLC

Following the confirmation last week by MLC of its new risk leadership team, the insurer has also announced the appointment of Aubrey Roga to the role of Head of Insurance Sales.

Mr Roga joins MLC from Colonial First State, where he was responsible for wholesale and retail platform distribution.  Prior to CFS, Mr Roga also held senior business development and national roles with AMP and AXA.

Commencing his new role in March, Mr Roga will lead MLC’s sales team for both individual and group insurance products.

Colin Woods - General Manager, MLC Sales said: “We are delighted to welcome Aubrey to the MLC team. His strong sales background and experience across a variety of distribution channels will prove to be an invaluable asset.”
