Financial Writers Australia (FWA) has recently launched a new business matchmaking service designed to connect financial services professionals.
Named FWA Connect, the matchmaking service can be utilised by advice practices seeking to develop links with strategic and referral partners. For example, it could cater to financial planners or accountants needing to be placed in touch with risk writers in their area/industry segment, or risk practices seeking links with local general insurance or legal contacts, etc.
FWA Managing Director, Julianne Bell, said FWA Connect was born after a request from a client for a referral to a successful adviser who could present at their upcoming conference.
The success of this initial exercise prompted FWA to become more proactive and promote FWA Connect as a special offer to its clients, who cover the full spectrum of retail financial services.

“After 10 years in the industry we have developed some very useful connections across numerous areas,” said Ms Bell. “We thought by sharing our business relationships we could help our clients’ businesses even more, so that everyone benefits. We see it as a personal version of LinkedIn.”
FWA Connect is available free-of-charge to financial services practices that subscribe to FWA’s range of services.
