AMP has appointed a new Head of Practice for its AMP Horizons program and has also announced details of a national community award made to one of its planners.
Former ING exec, Michael Pollak, has joined AMP Horizons as its new Head of Practice.
Mr Pollak’s responsibilities will include driving the continued growth of the AMP Horizons business model and supporting the ongoing development of Horizons planners.
Immediately prior to joining AMP, Mr Pollak was ING’s National Dealer Group Manager - Advice. Prior to that role, he was Head of Strategy and Finance for the ING Advice Group.
Mr Pollak will report directly to AMP Horizons Director Tim Steele and will commence his role on 3 May.
Meanwhile, long time AMP financial planner, Bernard Fehon, has received a national award for his outstanding work in the community.
Mr Fehon has been awarded the AMP Foundation Community Planner of the Year award for his outstanding efforts in creating the Vinnies CEO Winter Sleepout.
Mr Fehon has been a financial planner in Penrith for the past decade and developed an interest in raising funds for the homeless, launching the CEO Sleepout in 2006.
The CEO Sleepout allows people to experience what it’s like to be homeless, for just one night.
“In 2009 myself, and around 200 CEOs and community leaders, bedded down for the night with little more than a piece of cardboard to sleep on and a sleeping bag,” said Mr Fehon, adding that the CEO Sleepout has become an annual event to help raise funds for St Vincent De Paul’s homeless services.
“The CEO Sleepout really does change the way business and community leaders think about issues that lead to homelessness
“The CEO Sleepout really does change the way business and community leaders think about issues that lead to homelessness and about people who find themselves in difficult situations,” he said.
Since his involvement with the CEO Sleepout, Mr Fehon has helped to raise over $1 million for St Vincent De Paul.
