Suncorp Life and PIS have announced senior management appointments during the last week:
Suncorp Life
Suncorp Life has appointed David Carter as its Executive General Manager Direct Distribution.
Mr Carter is charged with leading the business’s strategy to target life insurance sales through Suncorp Group brands, and will report directly to Suncorp Life CEO, Geoff Summerhayes.
This appointment reflects last weeks announcement, where Suncorp Life outlined a strategy to focus all its efforts into developing two complementary market segments, namely:
- The specialist Independent Financial Adviser market
- The direct distribution to existing Suncorp customers
Mr Carter’s appointment followed the elevation last week of Jordan Hawke to the role of Asteron Executive General Manager.
PIS
Professional Investment Services has a new CEO, with the appointment of David Johnstone to that role.
The Board of PIS’s parent company, Professional Investment Holdings (PIH), said it has appointed a CEO for PIS to achieve greater focus on and control of the Group’s largest subsidiary company through a dedicated senior executive based at head office.
In the statement announcing Mr Johnstone’s appointment, PIH advised its CEO, Robbie Bennetts and Managing Director, Grahame Evans, will remain in their current positions.
Mr Johnstone will report to Mr Evans, and will focus on ‘horizon one’ – managing the operations and performance of the PIS business to maximise value.
