Advice Innovators Band Together

A shared passion for increasing the availability of financial advice is behind a new program initiated by the creators of the AstuteWheel.

Called AdviceInnovation, the program aims to provide access to innovative solutions for Australian financial advice businesses. Part online hub, part networking ‘club’, AdviceInnovation brings together some of the most unique business solutions, many of which were designed by advisers for advisers.

Businesses must apply to become an AdviceInnovation partner, and will only be accepted if they have achieved proven results for advice clients, and share a desire to improve the efficiency of advisers’ practices. The businesses will then be showcased via a website, as well as through direct marketing, PR and regular ‘innovation think tanks’ with other members and their clients.

Over time, the website will profile solutions across a range of ‘categories’, representing the types of challenges regularly encountered by advice practices. Only one provider per ‘category’ will be invited to join AdviceInnovation, so advisers can trust they’re getting access to the ‘best of the best’ solutions. Similarly, many of the businesses have built their solutions in collaboration with other AdviceInnovation partners, so that they interact seamlessly, delivering greater efficiencies and better client outcomes.

…these services are aimed at helping the adviser to differentiate themselves

Michael Topper, Co-Founder of The Astute Wheel, devised the idea for the program while trying to find an audience for his own business.

“Advisers were contacting us as a result of word-of-mouth referrals but wished they knew about us sooner,” he said. “That got me thinking – why don’t I find other great innovators for advisers and build an innovators hub on the net?”

“The website is like an oasis for advisers who are struggling with a particular practice issue, and who are looking for an innovative solution,” added AdviceInnovation founding partner and creator of Now Sorted!, Eddie Lees.

“Each of these services are aimed at helping the adviser to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market,” Mr Lees said.

Now Sorted! is one of six businesses already signed-up as an AdviceInnovation partner:

  • The AstuteWheel, an online customer engagement and modelling tool
  • Complete Client Connection, a client review service designed to help advisers identify growth opportunities within their existing client base
  • The Social Adviser, a consultancy delivering social advice strategies for practices
  • Now Sorted!, an electronic filing solution to collate and maintain all a client’s vital documents
  • 64 Media, a PR firm that aims to help advisers raise their profile and manage their reputation
  • PressDev, which delivers practical website solutions for advisers
