BT’s Phil Hay and CommInsure were among the winners at last week’s 2014 Australian Insurance Industry Awards.
The Awards, presented by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) in conjunction with founding partner, Asia Insurance Review, recognise excellence across a range of general and life insurance fields.
BT Financial Group’s Head of Life Insurance, Phil Hay, was announced as the Insurance Leader of the Year. Known as an advocate for improved industry transparency and benchmarking, Mr Hay was also recently awarded the inaugural Pioneer Award at the FSC Life Insurance Industry Awards.
“I’m honoured to be working in such an important and life changing industry that provides financial comfort to people in their time of greatest need. I am also incredibly humbled to receive this award, as the work that we do at BT is a joint effort. I’m thankful that we have such a strong and dedicated team, who go above and beyond to support our customers, day in and day out,” Mr Hay said.
“Putting the customer at the centre of everything we do, and making the customer experience as transparent, simple and accessible as possible, will engender trust among the community we serve, and help our industry tackle issues such as underinsurance,” he added.
Also receiving an ANZIIF Insurance Industry Award was CommInsure, which was named Life Insurer of the Year.
This is the third time CommInsure has won the Award, previously taking out the prize in 2010 and 2011.
