ANZ has launched a new range of support tools to help advisers raise the issue of female financial equality with clients.

Among the materials is a social media sharing toolkit, designed to help advisers leverage the digital coverage of the ANZ campaign. The toolkit includes a 90-second video and infographic, and advisers are also encouraged to post a picture of themselves as a child on anz.com/equalfuture, and to use the campaign’s hashtag #equalfuture.

This initiative is the latest in ANZ’s campaign to strengthen the financial position of women.

In August, Financial Services Council CEO, Sally Loane, praised ANZ for its recently announced initiatives to increase superannuation for female employees and its offer of free superannuation advice for low-income customers (see: ANZ Targets Gender Equality).

More recently, Assistant Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, told a Tax Institute event in Sydney that the current tax reform process being undertaken by the Government provided an opportunity to see if anything more could be done to address the superannuation imbalance that exists for women. Mr Frydenberg also noted there is a new reference to the Senate Economics Committee for an inquiry into economic security for women in retirement, with a report due in March 2016.

In this latest campaign, for every public social media post using the hashtag #equalfuture, ANZ will donate $1 to the International Development Women’s Agency, up to a maximum of $100,000.

ANZ has also developed client review and prospecting letters, a White Paper on the barriers to achieving financial gender equality, a seminar presentation and editorials which can be used in local press or client newsletters.

“Women play a critical role in global economies – however our report shows they can still earn up to 36%less than men and retire with around half the superannuation,” ANZ CEO Global Wealth, Joyce Phillips said.
