BT Financial Group (BTFG) has named a replacement for its head of insurance recruiting a former IAG and Wesfarmers executive to the role.
BTFG announced that Sue Houghton, currently Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, would join the group from early March.
Houghton will take on the role of General Manager, Insurance, which was previously held by David Lees before he moved to Westpac late last year to take on the role of deputy chief financial officer.
Houghton will oversee BTFG’s general insurance business which is offered via the Westpac Banking Group’s branch network, contact centres and online as well as it life insurance business with Head of Life Insurance, Phil Hay set to report to Houghton.
BTFG Chief Executive Brad Cooper said Houghton was highly regarded within the Australian insurance industry with Houghton stating she was looking forward to “working in partnership with the investments, advice and superannuation businesses within the group”.
