Porter, who has been a Synchron adviser since 2001 and Queensland State Manager since 2009, made the announcement at a professional development day being held by Synchron in Brisbane today.

He was awarded the Michael Murphy Award in 2015 from the Association of Financial Advisers and was responsible for growing the number of Synchron representatives in Queensland from 20 to 115, making it the second largest state for adviser numbers in the group.

Porter will be succeeded in the role of State Manager by Gee Vas, a former Business Development Manager with Zurich, who has also held roles with TAL and Aviva Australia.
