AIA Australia has appointed its current Chief Finance and Strategy Officer, Harry Efthimiou to a new role of Chief Health Insurance Officer.
The appointment follows recent news that AIA Australia had entered a joint venture to offer its own private health insurance products under the newly created myOwn brand (see: AIA Moves Into Health Insurance Space).
Efthimiou, who has been with AIA Australia since 2010, will be replaced in his previous roles by Tim Tez, who has taken on the role of Chief Strategy Officer for Australia and New Zealand including responsibility for Strategy, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations. Tez rejoined AIA Australia in February of this year and was previously Chief Marketing Officer for the insurer from 2009 to 2014.
Michael Chernov will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer for Australia and New Zealand having held senior roles in the Actuarial, Finance and Strategy teams since joining AIA Australia in 2009.
AIA Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive, Damian Mu said the new roles had been set up to provide support business opportunities in the life and health insurance sectors in Australia and New Zealand.
