The APFinSA represents 100,000 financial advisers across 11 country associations and awards the Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner (FChFP) designation through those member associations.

AFA Chief Executive, Phil Kewin said that Hakes appointment “…demonstrates that the Australian advice profession and our education program are held in the highest esteem by our Asia-Pacific neighbours”.

The appointment coincides with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between APFinSA and the European Financial Planning Association (EFPA) which starts a process for the EFPA to formally recognise the APFinSA’s FChFP designation.

The FChFP designation is offered in Australia through AFA to its members, with Hakes commenting that the MOU recognises the value and quality of the designation while also extending its global footprint.
