MetLife has continued to expand its retail sales team ahead of its entrance into the retail life insurance market and has appointed a former AIA Australia development manager and shifted one of its own client relationship managers into new roles.

MetLife Strategic Account Manager, Charlé Howard

The life insurer has recruited Casey Sugden as Senior Sales Manager for Victoria and Tasmania to lead its engagement with advisers and further build the regional sales team.

Sugden was previously with SMSF retirement specialist, Accurium, where he held the role of Regional Development Manager but has held roles at AIA Australia as Senior Business Development Manager and Asteron as Business Development Manager.

MetLife has also moved Charlé Howard, who was a Strategic Relationship Manager dealing with direct and group life partners into the role of Strategic Account Manager in the retail sales team, and will oversee MetLife’s engagement with licensee management and research teams nationally

Howard had previously worked at Asteron Life in an adviser sales role and at MLC Advice Solutions in an adviser support role.

MetLife Head of Retail Sales, Matt Lippiatt said the appointments would strengthen the ability of the insurer to partner with advisers and licensees.
