Pacific Life Re will revamp elements of its UnderwriteMe digital platform as part of new partnership with occupational rehabilitation experts, Thrive Re Consulting.
Under the partnership, Thrive Re Consulting will conduct a research to identify the most current practices and specific factors and questions that will be integrated into the Claims Rules Engine, which is part of suite of products within UnderwriteMe.
At present, Engine contains a database of more than 6,500 medical conditions and provides initial and ongoing assessment information for claimants and their doctors, as well as recommendations for rehabilitation and return to work programs.
Pacific Life Re stated it recognised the value of identifying the biopsychosocial obstacles that hindered rehabilitation or a return to wellness at the earliest opportunity in the claims management process in order to improve outcomes for claimants.
Pacific Life Re Australia Managing Director, Andrew Gill said the partnership with Thrive Re Consulting would build help the reinsurer “…go even further in delivering a fast, highly personalised and complete service for claimants. By entering into this partnership, we will enhance the claims experience and help claimants get back on their feet sooner”.
The new Claims Rules Engine is expected to be released early next year
