ClearView Life has updated its LifeSolutions e-App and improved the classifications for people who do not have a full time job or income.

ClearView General Manager of Distribution, Christopher Blaxland-Walker

In a note sent to advisers from ClearView Life General Manager Distribution, Christopher Blaxland-Walker, the insurer said the e-App, which is available via its AQUA quoting and underwriting platform had received the following improvements:

  • An updated questionnaire to ensure only relevant and important information is captured to reduce the need to follow-up
  • Enhanced financial rules and classifications in respect to home duties, retired persons, students and low income earners to better align with our underwriting philosophy and increase auto acceptance
  • Updated rules in respect to hip disorders and cervical screening to provide greater coverage

The note stated the changes took effect from the evening of 25 June and any applications with an incomplete Personal Statement in the system at that time may be subject to the new rules, which may impact their final outcome.

ClearView undertook a large scale upgrade of AQUA in January this year, at which time it integrated tele-interviewing and tele-underwriting into the platform (see: ClearView Revamps Quote and Application Platform).
