MetLife Australia has released a digital life insurance claims platform which it has launched with a public offer industry fund in South Australia.

MetLife Chief Marketing Officer, Jeremy Simmons

The platform will allow fund members to scan and upload documents from a smartphone or tablet and complete a simple income protection claim in less than 15 minutes, according to the life insurer.

Claims can also be tracked through the platform and are assigned a dedicated claims manager for the duration of the process.

MetLife Australia stated the platform was developed in tandem with Statewide Super, which has 140,000 members, and uses technology which allows for the pre-population of data in claims forms and the inclusion of the platform in member websites and apps.

said, “Through our research, we identified that the claims experience was the time when members most need support from their fund and insurer. We’ve worked closely with funds, members, and administrators and applied customer-centric design principles to develop an intuitive experience making it faster and easier to lodge and track a claim”.
