The AFA Board Executive will remain unchanged following the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the President, Vice President and Treasurer opting to retain their roles for another two years.

AFA National President, Marc Bineham

AFA Board National President, Marc Bineham told journalists at the AFA’s National Adviser Conference that he, National Vice President, Michael Nowak and Treasurer, David Slovenic had chosen to serve another two-year term to provide some continuity during a period of ongoing change.

“Given the changes to education, the issues coming from the Royal Commission it was agreed that we should keep some consistency at the Board level. We did not want to leave a new board to deal with these issues as that would be unfair,” Bineham said.

Following the AGM, the AFA also announced the appointment of Glen James as NSW/ACT State Director and Patricia Garcia as Queensland State Director, replacing Jeff Thurecht and Tim Ross, respectively.

James is an adviser and Managing Director of Fortify Financial on the NSW Central Coast and Garcia is a Director and adviser with WB Financial Bowen Hills in Queensland and the current AFA Genxt National Chair.
