AMP has announced a raft of Board and senior appointments in the last week.

Board Announcements

AMP Life Chair, Trevor Matthews …will remain on the AMP Life Board as an AMP nominee

AMP has announced that on completion of the sale of AMP Life to Resolution Life (see: AMP to Sell Life Insurance Business), its current Chair of AMP Life, Trevor Matthews, will remain on the AMP Life Board as an AMP nominee, but will retire from the AMP Limited Board. AMP notes Matthews joined the board of AMP Limited in March 2014 and was appointed Chairman of AMP Life in May 2016.

Debra Hazelton has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the AMP Limited Board.

The wealth manager says Hazelton brings significant experience from more than 30 years in global financial services, including as the local Chief Executive of Mizuho Bank in Australia and Commonwealth Bank (CBA) in Japan. Her appointment takes effect on 15 June 2019.

AMP Australian Wealth Management

Five key senior management appointments to AMP’s Australian Wealth Management team were announced last week:

Lakshman Anantakrishnan: Chief Investment Officer. Anantakrishnan will focus on supporting AMP’s superannuation trustees, and will commence at the end of June.

Lara Bourguignon: CEO, SuperConcepts (AMP’s self-managed super fund administration services business). Bourguignon is an internal appointment and will commence in mid-April.

Jen Thomas: Chief Operating Officer. Thomas will lead the transformation of AMP’s Australian Wealth Management’s operations, joining AMP from RBS. She will commence in early May.

Fraser Herd: Managing Director, Client Relationships. Herd’s brief is to build and enhance AMP’s direct advice channels. He joins AMP from Credit Suisse and will commence at the end of June.

Ant Dureau: Chief Client Officer. Dureau has been promoted from his role as AMP’s Acting Director Strategic Marketing & Customer Experience and will commence in mid-April.
