Zurich, OnePath Premium Waiver Offer

Zurich has announced it will offer a temporary premium waiver for customers impacted by the fires currently sweeping across parts of NSW and Queensland.

Recognising the potentially significant impact these bushfires may be having on the livelihoods of its life insurance customers who reside in areas affected by the fires, the insurer is offering to waive their premiums for two months.

In a communication to advisers, Zurich notes this two-month premium waiver offer will apply to both Zurich and OnePath life insurance customers whose property has been affected by the fires.

A Zurich spokesperson said “…the resilience of these Australian communities has been tested before, in recent times through drought, and now these devastating widespread bush and grass fires.

“We are grateful that there has been no loss of life as yet, although with the damage to homes and livelihoods expected to be into the hundreds, Zurich appreciates that impact extends further than a loss of assets.”

The insurer is encouraging advisers with clients experiencing hardship to reach out immediately to arrange the waiver. Remaining open until 30 November, Zurich says no application form is required to put the waiver into effect, and it can be arranged over the phone.

This latest offer follows a similar premium waiver by Zurich earlier this year, to and others affected by the severe flooding in the Townsville region in Queensland (see: Zurich Premium Waiver for Flood Victims).
