BTFG Sweeps Consumer Choice Awards

BT Financial Group (BTFG) has won a swag of awards at the inaugural Association of Financial Advisers and Beddoes Institute Consumer Choice Awards, being named individually or with other insurers as a winner in seven out of 10 award categories.

BTFG was recognised for its efforts in the life insurance space by winning the top award for Best Total Customer Experience as well as Most Recommended Company, Most Trusted Brand and Best Claims Staff.

Top billing was shared with One Path in the Best Application Process, Best Turnaround Time and Honouring Commitment Awards while TAL won the Value for Money and Best New Customer Experience Awards.

The Awards were split in three categories – Consumer, Policyholder and Claimant – and examined consumer experiences with Trauma, TPD and Income Protection products and services, with the AFA opting not to include Term Insurance due to the sensitivities around bereavement among surveyed consumers.

The awards are based on the Beddoes Institute’s 2016 Policyholder Perceptions Study and the Claimant Journey Study that form part of an ongoing Life Insurance Performance Barometer.

Beddoes Institute Director Dr Rebecca Shiels said the Policyholder Choice Awards assessed all companies, while the Claimants Choice Awards assessed only those life companies that provided contact details of their claimants. The Consumer Choice Awards acknowledged excellence in service from life insurance companies to both policyholders and claimants that also have a financial adviser.
