FASEA Invites Feedback on Draft Amendments to Education Legislative Instrument

1

FASEA is inviting feedback on draft amendments to an ‘education legislative instrument’ to facilitate incorporating its 2020 approvals of degrees and courses and recognition of advisers’ prior learning into the instrument.

A statement from the authority explains that during 2020 it has announced the approval of a number of current degrees and bridging courses and the recognition of prior learning of advisers through the approval of historic degrees and awarding of credit for coursework to attain a professional designation.

FASEA says that in announcing those approvals, it noted they would be added to a future education legislative instrument in due course.

It says that to facilitate incorporation of these approvals into the legislative instrument, it has now released for consultation draft amendments to the Corporations (Relevant Providers Degrees, Qualifications and Courses Standard) Determination 2020.

The statement adds that in addition to previously announced approvals, the proposed amendments include two credits of approved recognition of prior learning for existing advisers who have completed both a relevant degree and a post graduate relevant degree.

“Existing advisers who have completed both a relevant degree and a relevant post graduate degree will only be required to complete two bridging courses (including Ethics for professionals) to meet their education requirements,” it says.

The draft amendment also includes adjustments to some historical course/degree details provided to FASEA by higher education providers post registration of the 2020 determination.

FASEA invites feedback on the draft amendments which can be viewed here.

It says that feedback and submissions can be submitted through its dedicated consultations email –  consultation@fasea.gov.au –  by 16 September 2020.

  1. FASEA once again proves that they are a Government entity who has always been out of touch from reality and are slipping further away every day.

Their perception is a Utopian world of theory based experts, who have accumulated vast knowledge from the written world where University qualifications are the pinnacle of all that is good.

The real world, is that the vast majority of University graduates, who have accumulated massive debt in the pursuit of the bit of paper that proves their expertise, admit that upon entering the work force, away from the cloistered environment that was their theory based sheltered workshop, they in actual fact, knew very little and most of what they learned, was filed into the abyss of misaligned and unaligned knowledge, which was then forwarded to the junk file of lost opportunity.

An institutionalised person, is incapable of change and FASEA is an Institutionalised body of people who have never understood and never will.

What FASEA is achieving, is thousands of experienced advisers exiting the Industry, with the real cost to Australia and millions of Australians, being a Multi-Billion dollar fiscal failure that they will blame on others, just like all Public servant bodies are experts at doing.

FASEA is a disgrace and should be stripped of all it’s authority, the mindless robots who continue with their ridiculous mantra, removed and the whole process to start again, with clear, concise requirements that recognise experience above all else.
