{"id":10522,"date":"2011-05-18T10:40:49","date_gmt":"2011-05-18T00:40:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=10522"},"modified":"2021-05-18T20:48:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T10:48:00","slug":"networking-key-to-attracting-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2011\/05\/18\/networking-key-to-attracting-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Networking Key to Attracting Female Clients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Financial service providers\u00a0need to get involved in networking in order to attract more\u00a0female clients, according to a new study by a Melbourne financial planner.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Charmaine Curtain<\/strong>, from Global Partnerships Financial Consulting, says that 86% of women recommended service providers use networking and\/or sponsorship of specialist women&#8217;s events to make professional women aware of their services.<\/p>\n<p>The findings form part of a White Paper entitled &#8216;Long Way to the Top&#8217;. \u00a0For the study, Ms Curtain interviewed a select number of\u00a0successful women about their experiences in the workforce, the unique challenges they face and what service providers need to do in order to help them meet their needs.<\/p>\n<h6>Word of mouth gives you that level of reassurance that this person&#8217;s going to be somebody that you&#8217;ll work well with<\/h6>\n<p>&#8220;Of particular interest,&#8221; said Ms Curtain, &#8220;&#8230; was gaining insight into the financial challenges women face, their attitude towards money and the help they need on their financial journey.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She said that all of the women surveyed said word of mouth is at least one of the ways in which they source service providers.<\/p>\n<p>According to one respondent, word of mouth &#8216;&#8230; gives you that level of reassurance that this person&#8217;s going to be somebody that you&#8217;ll work well with.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Women also listed professional associations and networking as ways in which they locate services.\u00a0\u00a070% of women said they use networking themselves as a way to connect with each other.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Curtain says that women are not afraid to ask for assistance with financial matters, but they are not always aware of the services available.<\/p>\n<p>Just 25% of women surveyed said that in order to overcome financial challenges they had put a financial strategy in place and engaged a financial specialist.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ms Curtain, women overcome financial challenges by undertaking personal and professional development, mentoring, networking, using the internet and sharing their knowledge and experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These factors point to a very real need for professional help and advice relating to money,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Curtain argues that in order to help professional women meet their financial needs, service providers need to be prepared to deliver exceptional service.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Women want to be listened to, valued, appreciated and respected.\u00a0 Service that takes into account how time poor professional women are and how torn they feel between home and work; lifestyle and career will win the day,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Financial service providers\u00a0need to get involved in networking in order to attract more\u00a0female clients, according to a new study by a Melbourne financial planner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-10522","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-general","headers-new"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10522","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10522"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10522\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10522"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10522"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=10522"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
