{"id":16525,"date":"2012-08-01T11:36:28","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T01:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=16525"},"modified":"2012-08-01T11:36:28","modified_gmt":"2012-08-01T01:36:28","slug":"use-of-social-media-in-advice-practices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2012\/08\/01\/use-of-social-media-in-advice-practices\/","title":{"rendered":"Use of Social Media in Advice Practices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/polls\/use-of-social-media-in-business\" target=\"_self\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1228                       aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2009\/05\/vote-now.jpg\" alt=\"Vote Now!\" width=\"108\" height=\"47\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Early results from our annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coredata.com.au\/surveys\/index.php?sid=59295&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">riskinfo Reader Survey<\/a> tell us that more and more financial advisers are utilising social media for business purposes.\u00a0 But does this mean it is delivering bottom line\u00a0results?\u00a0 Our latest adviser poll is asking:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Has the use of social media increased the profitability of your advice practice?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our reader survey is telling us that almost 80% of advisers are now using at least one form of social media for business purposes.\u00a0 By far the most popular medium is LinkedIn.\u00a0 68% of those who have participated in our survey have said they use LinkedIn for business purposes.\u00a0 This represents an increase of over 57% from 2011, where 43.2% said they use LinkedIn.\u00a0 More than a quarter of advisers (26.8%) now use Facebook for business purposes, up from just\u00a0over 18% in 2011.\u00a0 There has also been\u00a0an upward trend in the utilisation of Twitter and YouTube for business purposes, but not in the same volumes as LinkedIn and Facebook.<\/p>\n<h6>&#8230;
