The Financial Services Council has announced a replacement for departing CEO, John Brogden<\/strong>, who will leave the role in January next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

New FSC CEO, Sally Loane<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Sally Loane<\/strong>, a former journalist and broadcaster, who has been the director of media and public affairs for Coca-Cola Amatil for the past eight years, will take on the CEO role, effective 8 December.<\/p>\n

Ms Loane is also a Director of Waratahs Rugby and SCEGGS Darlinghurst, is deputy chair of the Committee for Sydney, Governor of the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation and a member of the Salvation Army\u2019s Media Advisory Board.<\/p>\n

FSC Chairman, Greg Cooper<\/strong>, said Ms Loane would bring a strong background in media and corporate reputation to the FSC.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer skills and experience will be critical as financial services moves from an era of the most significant changes in regulation and legislation in its history to its next phase of being an export and growth industry for Australia,\u201d Mr Cooper said.<\/p>\n

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Loane said building trust and confidence in financial services would be a significant focus for the immediate future of the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy initial mandate will be to focus on three key areas for the future of financial services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first will be to establish a platform for Australia to develop a retirement outcomes policy. This is critical as Australians are living longer and need to ensure they can live comfortably in retirement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe second, to ensure financial services has a voice of influence in the debate on the tax and federation white papers \u2212 an area which is well overdue for reform.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the third is to contribute to Australia\u2019s future economic growth through building the right regulatory architecture so Australian can develop a significant presence in the Asian Region,\u201d Ms Loane said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
