{"id":29807,"date":"2015-06-01T15:49:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-01T05:49:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=29807"},"modified":"2015-06-01T15:59:41","modified_gmt":"2015-06-01T05:59:41","slug":"adviser-qualifications-added-to-register","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2015\/06\/01\/adviser-qualifications-added-to-register\/","title":{"rendered":"Adviser Qualifications Added to Register"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">The professional association membership details and industry qualifications of financial advisers have been added to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission\u2019s (ASIC) Financial Adviser Register.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_27666\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27666\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2014\/10\/Peter-Kell-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27666\" alt=\"ASIC Deputy Chair, Peter Kell\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2014\/10\/Peter-Kell-2.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-27666\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ASIC Deputy Chair, Peter Kell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneysmart.gov.au\/investing\/financial-advice\/financial-advisers-register\" target=\"_blank\">Register<\/a> has been available to the public since March 2015, and now includes information about advisers\u2019 qualifications, training and memberships of professional bodies.<\/p>\n<p>According to ASIC, there are more than 23,000 advisers on the register, which has been searched over 100,000 times since its launch. The Register can be accessed via ASIC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneysmart.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">MoneySmart<\/a> website, and the adviser data is also now available to download from the Australian Government website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.data.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.data.gov.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Launching the updated register, ASIC Deputy Chairman, <strong>Peter Kell<\/strong>, said: \u201cFrom today consumers will be able to see the qualifications and professional memberships in addition to the basic information about advisers already available on the register.
