{"id":31423,"date":"2015-10-27T11:13:29","date_gmt":"2015-10-27T01:13:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=31423"},"modified":"2015-10-28T06:30:43","modified_gmt":"2015-10-27T20:30:43","slug":"advisers-sceptical-about-lif-provisions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2015\/10\/27\/advisers-sceptical-about-lif-provisions\/","title":{"rendered":"Advisers Sceptical About Current LIF Provisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"polls-152\" class=\"wp-polls\">\n\t\t<div class=\"pollHeader\"><strong>Do you believe the Life Insurance Framework reforms will be implemented on 1 July 2016 with no further changes?<\/strong><\/div><div id=\"polls-152-ans\" class=\"wp-polls-ans\"><ul class=\"wp-polls-ul\">\n\t\t<li>No <small>(68%)<\/small><div class=\"pollbar\" style=\"width: 68%\" title=\"No (68% | 135 Votes)\"><\/div><\/li>\n\t\t<li>Yes <small>(21%)<\/small><div class=\"pollbar\" style=\"width: 21%\" title=\"Yes (21% | 41 Votes)\"><\/div><\/li>\n\t\t<li>Not sure <small>(11%)<\/small><div class=\"pollbar\" style=\"width: 11%\" title=\"Not sure (11% | 22 Votes)\"><\/div><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul><div style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<input type=\"hidden\" id=\"poll_152_nonce\" name=\"wp-polls-nonce\" value=\"b34779f7c7\" \/>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Almost three advisers in four do not believe the Life Insurance Framework reforms will be implemented on 1 July 2016 without any further changes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In our latest poll, 72% of advisers have voted &#8216;no&#8217; so far, to our question about whether they believe the Life Insurance Framework reforms will be implemented on 1 July 2016 with no further changes. 21% believe no further changes will happen, while 7% are not sure.<\/p>\n<p>Agitation for further changes to the Life Insurance Framework, specifically regarding the two most contentious provisions relating to commissions and clawbacks, is continuing to take place via a number of sources.<\/p>\n<p>This activity includes direct representations to the Assistant Treasurer by individual advisers, further meetings taking place between adviser associations and the Assistant Treasurer this week, as well as calls by advisers and licensees for advisers to approach their local member of parliament &#8211; this from an adviser comment to our poll:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I urge all other advisers to call\/see your ( Liberal ) federal member and request they speak with Kelly O&#8217;Dwyer about your concerns.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h6>&#8230; the door remains open to further consultation<\/h6>\n<p>Earlier this week, AFA CEO <strong>Brad Fox<\/strong> told delegates at the 2015 AFA National Adviser Conference in Cairns the door remains open to further consultation with the Government and that the Association was meeting Assistant Treasurer, <strong>Kelly O&#8217;Dwyer<\/strong>, in her Melbourne electorate this week.
