{"id":33856,"date":"2016-07-17T21:23:28","date_gmt":"2016-07-17T10:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=33856"},"modified":"2022-09-01T11:18:36","modified_gmt":"2022-09-01T01:18:36","slug":"afa-membership-numbers-soar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2016\/07\/17\/afa-membership-numbers-soar\/","title":{"rendered":"AFA Membership Numbers Soar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of Financial Advisers has announced a 60% leap in membership numbers over the last 24 months.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_33860\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33860\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/07\/Brad-Fox-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-33860\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33860\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/07\/Brad-Fox-2.jpg\" alt=\"AFA CEO, Brad Fox, has overseen a 60% member increase...\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33860\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AFA CEO, Brad Fox, has overseen a 60% member increase in the last two years&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Association has twice referred to its membership growth in recent releases &#8211; as part of its statement welcoming the return of the Coalition Government and more recently in an open letter to its members notifying them that nominations are now open for AFA Board elections.<\/p>\n<p>This period of growth has been dominated by issues relating to the implementation of the Future of Financial Advice reforms and the sometimes heated debate surrounding the controversial new Life Insurance Framework reform proposals.<\/p>\n<p>In its statement welcoming the return of the Coalition to power, AFA CEO, <strong>Brad Fox<\/strong>, noted: &#8220;The profession is at a transformational point in its evolution, with technological change and the adoption of new standards shaping its service offering&#8230;The AFA is in a growth phase, with membership up 60% over the last two years, and with strong inroads made in policy and advocacy, member engagement and with the media.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>AFA membership has now crossed the 3,500 mark&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fox told riskinfo that AFA membership has now crossed the 3,500 mark and continues to grow. I am very proud of the current standing that the AFA has within the financial advice marketplace with government and other parties, and our regulators.
