BT has released the initial results of its unique health outcome measure stating it has tracked the rehabilitation of 300 customers and seen an average improvement in health outcomes in 84 per cent of finalised cases.<\/p>\n

The results were released to mark the first year of the measure which is designed to assesses a person on a number of health aspects including cognition, self-care, participation, mobility and capacity to undertake everyday activities following an insurance claim.<\/p>\n

BT said its life insurance claims management team has used the measure to understand ways to assist customers in their recovery and re-entry into the workforce and that of the 68 cases that have been finalised, 84% showed an improved health outcome and three out of four customers have returned to work.<\/p>\n

BT, Life Insurance, National Claims Manager, Paula Bourke<\/strong> said the health outcome measure was a tangible way to gauge the difference the insurer was making with customers where each case was unique.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe health outcome measure helps us to understand how to approach different sets of circumstances. As the customer makes their way on the road to recovery, it\u2019s incredibly satisfying to be there with them and assist them with achieving their wellbeing goals,\u201d Bourke said.<\/p>\n
