{"id":37629,"date":"2017-07-04T12:00:15","date_gmt":"2017-07-04T02:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=37629"},"modified":"2017-07-04T23:53:36","modified_gmt":"2017-07-04T13:53:36","slug":"industry-stalwart-calls-it-a-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2017\/07\/04\/industry-stalwart-calls-it-a-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Industry Stalwart Calls it a Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former AFA President <strong>Joe Nowak<\/strong> has formally retired ending a 47 year long career as a financial adviser.<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37631\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37631\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/07\/Joe-Nowak.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-37631\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37631\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/07\/Joe-Nowak.jpg\" alt=\"Joe Nowak\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-37631\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Joe Nowak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nowak\u2019s last day as an adviser was 30 June 2017 working at the same business he started on 1 June 1970 \u2013 Nowak Financial Services (originally Joe Nowak Insurance Agencies) in Brisbane \u2013 as an agent with Legal and General, and which is currently owned and operated by son, <strong>Michael Nowak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Nowak is a two-time Past President of the AFA, in 1989 and from 2001-2002, and was awarded the Michael Murphy Award by the AFA in 2014 for his dedication to the financial advice profession.
