{"id":37976,"date":"2017-08-15T17:00:26","date_gmt":"2017-08-15T07:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=37976"},"modified":"2017-08-15T20:43:20","modified_gmt":"2017-08-15T10:43:20","slug":"news-in-brief-215","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2017\/08\/15\/news-in-brief-215\/","title":{"rendered":"News in Brief"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>ASIC Seeks Peer Review Panel Members<\/li>\n<li>Infocus to Expand\u00a0H&amp;R Block Referral Program<\/li>\n<li>ClearView Signs Xplan for Scaled Advice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>ASIC Seeks Peer Review Panel Members<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASIC is seeking expressions of interest from individuals within the financial services sector to join its new peer review panel which may recommend the banning of advisers.<\/p>\n<p>The Financial Services and Credit Panel was first proposed by ASIC in April this year (see: <a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2017\/04\/11\/asic-proposes-peer-review-panel-for-banning-actions\/\" target=\"_blank\">ASIC Proposes Peer Review Panel For Banning Advisers<\/a>) and will\u00a0assist ASIC in making banning decisions for misconduct in the provision of financial services to retail investors.<\/p>\n<p>ASIC said it was seeking industry participants with practical expertise and experience in retail financial services, an exposure to a variety of business models, and an understanding of applicable regulatory regimes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/asic.gov.au\/about-asic\/what-we-do\/how-we-operate\/external-committees-and-panels\/asics-financial-services-and-credit-panel\/\" target=\"_blank\">Applications need to be made by email to ASIC<\/a> and close at\u00a0on 31 August 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infocus to Expand H&amp;R Block Referral Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36878\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36878\" style=\"width: 180px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/04\/RobBristow.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-36878\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36878\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/04\/RobBristow.jpg\" alt=\"Infocus CEO &amp;
