{"id":38241,"date":"2017-09-11T13:59:56","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T03:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=38241"},"modified":"2017-09-13T00:32:28","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T14:32:28","slug":"afa-adviser-practice-of-the-year-finalists-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2017\/09\/11\/afa-adviser-practice-of-the-year-finalists-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"AFA Adviser, Practice of the Year Finalists Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The AFA has announced the names of the finalists in this year\u2019s AFA Adviser of the Year and Practice of the Year Awards.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The AFA made the announcement in conjunction with Zurich, which has been a supporter of the Award since it was first launched as a joint initiative between the two groups in 2003, as well as supporting the Practice of the Year Award which began four years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists for the 2017 Adviser of the Year Award are:<\/p>\n<p>[threecol_one]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34606\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/09\/Charlie-Fraser.jpg\" alt=\"Charlie-Fraser\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Charlie Fraser<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfg.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shadforth Financial Group<\/a>, QLD[\/threecol_one] [threecol_one]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34613\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/09\/Glen-James.jpg\" alt=\"Glen James\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Glen James<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/fortifyfinancial.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fortify Financial<\/a>, NSW[\/threecol_one] [threecol_one_last]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34612\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2017\/09\/Julia-Schortinghuis.jpg\" alt=\"Julia-Schortinghuis\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Julia Schortinghuis<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousecapital.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lighthouse Capital<\/a>, WA[\/threecol_one_last]<\/p>\n<p>\u2026and the finalists for the 2017 Practice of the Year Award are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afrm.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Financial Risk Management<\/a> (NSW)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediqfinancial.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">MEDIQ<\/a> (VIC)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pfg.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">PFG Financial Services<\/a> (VIC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nominees for the Adviser of the Year Award, now in its 15th year,\u00a0are judged for the contribution they make to improving the financial literacy of their clients and their community.<\/p>\n<p>The Practice of the Year Award\u00a0 focuses on businesses with outstanding processes and delivering a consistent level of high quality advice to their clients through a unique service proposition.<\/p>\n<p>AFA Chief Executive, <strong>Phil Kewin<\/strong> said the Awards were\u00a0&#8216;demanding and rigorous&#8217; which reflected the expectations of consumers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every finalist has invested in themselves and their business, and to reach this stage of the judging process is an achievement in itself. Not to mention all of those who are striving to be the best, who did not make this year&#8217;s finalist list,&#8221; Kewin said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They should be all very proud, and I congratulate them all for their commitment.
