{"id":40129,"date":"2018-03-06T20:52:01","date_gmt":"2018-03-06T09:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=40129"},"modified":"2018-03-07T03:41:58","modified_gmt":"2018-03-06T16:41:58","slug":"news-in-brief-227","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2018\/03\/06\/news-in-brief-227\/","title":{"rendered":"News in Brief"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>FPA Roadshow to Tackle Education Confusion<\/li>\n<li>AFA Promotes Parity For Women in Financial Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b>FPA Roadshow to Tackle Education Confusion<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The FPA will seek to unpack details relating to new education and professional standards at its upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fpa.com.au\/roadshow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Roadshow<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_33032\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33032\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/04\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33032\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/04\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33032\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FPA CEO, Dante De Gori<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Commenting on <a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2018\/03\/06\/adviser-education-requirements-some-clarity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the confusion among advisers about how the changes will affect them<\/a>, FPA Chief Executive, <strong>Dante De Gori<\/strong> said the annual roadshow &#8220;&#8230;was an important opportunity for financial planners to unite across the profession and discuss what all the changes will mean&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The roadshow will visit 33 locations and will start in Victoria in mid-April and run until June.<\/p>\n<p>De Gori said FPA members were encouraged \u201c\u2026to share their concerns so that we can address the issues and build a solid position to respond to FASEA in an appropriate and meaningful way\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur aim is always to support FPA members to meet their education and professional obligations and this will be a focus of our discussion at the Roadshow,\u201d De Gori added.<\/p>\n<p><b>AFA Promotes Parity For Women in Financial Services<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34490\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34490\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/09\/DianneCharman-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34490\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/09\/DianneCharman-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34490\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AFA Inspire National Chair, Dianne Charman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The AFA has thrown its support behind efforts to build gender parity for women and its Inspire community will run <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afa.asn.au\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a series of events<\/a> on International Women\u2019s Day (IWD) to promote change within the advice community.<\/p>\n<p>Running under the theme of #PressForChange the events will take place on 7 March in Adelaide and on 8 March in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane featuring leading women in business, financial services and the community.<\/p>\n<p>AFA Chief Executive, <strong>Philip Kewin<\/strong> said the AFA Inspire #PressForChange events provided the financial services industry with an opportunity to be part of a global community supporting women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope our events inspire our own community to push for the cultural change that is so necessary for the success of working women;
