{"id":41431,"date":"2018-07-04T06:00:10","date_gmt":"2018-07-03T20:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=41431"},"modified":"2018-07-04T02:49:36","modified_gmt":"2018-07-03T16:49:36","slug":"mlc-appoints-new-head-of-underwriting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2018\/07\/04\/mlc-appoints-new-head-of-underwriting\/","title":{"rendered":"MLC Life Appoints New Head of Underwriting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MLC Life Insurance has named a new Head of Underwriting after looking to Asia to make the appointment.<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_41433\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41433\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/07\/Head-of-underwriting-Mick-Jones.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41433\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/07\/Head-of-underwriting-Mick-Jones.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-41433\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Incoming MLC Life Insurance Head of Underwriting, Mick Jones<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The life insurer stated that HSBC Hong Kong Chief Underwriter, <strong>Mick Jones<\/strong> would join its ranks in August and report to Chief Underwriting Officer, <strong>Debbie Kennedy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jones will oversee the performance of MLC Life\u2019s underwriting team and will also be involved in enhancing its new digital underwriting platform to improve it use for advisers and make it easier for applicants to get cover.<\/p>\n<p>He has been with HSBC since December 2013 and prior to taking on the role as Chief Underwriter he was Head of Life Underwriting and Operations, and prior to that he was Regional Chief Underwriter Asia for Reinsurance Group of America.
