{"id":42725,"date":"2018-10-23T22:30:11","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T12:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=42725"},"modified":"2018-10-23T22:44:45","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T12:44:45","slug":"clearview-lifesolutions-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2018\/10\/23\/clearview-lifesolutions-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"ClearView LifeSolutions Upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ClearView has released details of an October upgrade to its LifeSolutions product range, where the focus has been around returning people to health and work.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42733\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42733\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42733\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/10\/Christoper-Blaxland-Walker-v2-e1540298444964-247x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/10\/Christoper-Blaxland-Walker-v2-e1540298444964-247x300.jpg 247w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/10\/Christoper-Blaxland-Walker-v2-e1540298444964-768x931.jpg 768w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2018\/10\/Christoper-Blaxland-Walker-v2-e1540298444964-845x1024.jpg 845w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42733\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ClearView GM Distribution, Christopher Blaxland-Walker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--> Taking effect from 1 October 2018, the insurer has noted in a release that its enhancements include the removal of barriers, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Returning to work rules during the waiting period<\/li>\n<li>Making rehabilitation benefits available from day one of disability for income protection customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other enhancements detailed in the release include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Renaming of trauma medical definitions to ensure they are easier to understand<\/li>\n<li>Updated\/improved trauma definitions<\/li>\n<li>Update to the \u2018terminal illness\u2019 definition to a 24-month definition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The insurer has also introduced a new retraining benefit for policies held outside of superannuation, designed, according to ClearView, to give people on an income protection claim the opportunity to retrain in order to re-join the workforce in a role that is meaningful and suitable for them.<\/p>\n<p>Well-known ClearView GM of Distribution, <strong>Christopher Blaxland-Walker<\/strong>, said the changes included the removal of the waiting period under the insurer&#8217;s relapse benefit for customers who need to make a further claim application for the same, or related, condition.<\/p>\n<p>Blaxland-Walker provided the example of customers who have been on an income protection claim and returned to work only to find they need to take further time off, and can do so without the need to restart their waiting period.
