{"id":43996,"date":"2019-03-14T22:24:23","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T12:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=43996"},"modified":"2019-03-15T14:27:54","modified_gmt":"2019-03-15T04:27:54","slug":"tal-takes-top-honours-at-life-company-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2019\/03\/14\/tal-takes-top-honours-at-life-company-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"TAL Takes Top Honours at Life Company Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TAL has won the Platinum Award for the 2018 AFA\/Strategic Insight Life Company of the Year.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44003\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44003\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/03\/Phil-Kewin-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-44003 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/03\/Phil-Kewin-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44003\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AFA CEO, Phil Kewin: &#8230;These are the companies that are demonstrating a genuine commitment to innovating and improving their offer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Presented at a gala event in Sydney on Thursday, this is the second consecutive year and fifth time overall that TAL has beaten its life company rivals to win this prestigious award.<\/p>\n<p>The three other finalists in the big award for the evening were: AIA Australia, OnePath and Zurich.<\/p>\n<p>Now in their 13th year, these awards represent the &#8216;gold standard&#8217; when it comes to objectively benchmarking the annual performance of the country&#8217;s life insurance firms, where the companies are assessed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pflresearch.com\/company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strategic Insight<\/a> against key benchmarks including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial Strength and Sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Market Sales Growth<\/li>\n<li>Premium Rates<\/li>\n<li>Premium Rates Volatility<\/li>\n<li>Relative Quality of Terms and Conditions<\/li>\n<li>Service Quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Zurich was singled out as the winner of the overall Service Quality Award, where the other finalists in that category &#8211; all of which are stand-alone insurers, were: AIA Australia, MLC Life Insurance and TAL.<\/p>\n<p>Product and innovation awards were shared between a number of providers, while the valued Client Service Team Awards went to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Underwriting Team of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: <strong>BT Financial Group<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: ClearView, OnePath<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Claims Team of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: <strong>OnePath<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: Zurich, MLC Life Insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BDM\/Business Support Team of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: <strong>Zurich<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: ClearView\/BT Financial Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The life company product awards went to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Term\/TPD Product Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: A<strong>IA Australia<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: MLC Life Insurance, TAL, OnePath<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Trauma Product Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: <strong>BT Financial Group<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: TAL, MLC Life Insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Income Protection Product Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner: <strong>MLC Life Insurance<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Finalists: TAL, CommInsure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Asteron Life won the Risk Product Innovation Award for its &#8220;The Sophisticated Adviser&#8221; Education program.<\/p>\n<p>AFA CEO, <strong>Philip Kewin<\/strong>, said, &#8220;We believe it is important to recognise those financial organisations who are delivering outstanding products and services to financial advisers and their clients and congratulate all of our 2018 winners and finalists.
