Respected industry figure, Ron Grima<\/strong>, has passed away following a courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease.<\/p>\n

Ron was a well-known Queensland BDM, who spent 32 years in the financial services sector. He worked as an adviser for the first five years of his career, before moving into BDM and other roles dedicated to serving the Australian adviser community.<\/p>\n

He was universally respected by his peers throughout his career, during which he worked with various institutions including: Royal & Sun Alliance, Lend Lease Financial Planning, Perpetual, AXA, Business Risk Institute Australia, Equity Trustees and most recently with Australian Unity.<\/p>\n

Ron walked the talk in several ways. His career passion was to serve advisers and advice businesses – a task which colleagues say he performed with dedication and sincerity, and which was enhanced by the insights he gained during the five years he spent as an adviser himself before embarking on his BDM career.<\/p>\n

He also walked the talk when it came to supporting the critical importance of life insurance and the value of advice. At the 2018 AFA Conference – after he had been diagnosed with this incurable disease – Ron told his story to Riskinfo:<\/p>\n

In telling his story, Ron urged his industry peers to walk the talk and to ensure they all hold life and living insurances appropriate for their circumstances. He also penned a Linkedin article late last year, which served to balance the bad news stemming from the Banking Royal Commission with a positive and affirming message about the value of advice:<\/p>\n

Taken from his Linkedin site, Ron advocated a very simple but powerful message that related to his battle with Motor Neurone Disease but also to his attitude towards life and to serving the community:<\/p>\n
