ClearView Wealth has announced its Chief Actuary and Risk Officer, Greg Martin<\/strong>, has been appointed to the newly-created position of General Manager, Strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company said Martin\u2019s former role had been separated with the appointment of Orla Cowan<\/strong> to the role of Chief Risk Officer, as the group ramps up its investment in risk management and compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his new role, Martin will have responsibility for overseeing the group\u2019s strategy and execution in addition to the ongoing management of the actuarial and product management functions.<\/span><\/p>\n

He will be actively involved in the implementation of ClearView\u2019s reinvigorated technology strategy and roadmap, enhanced Life Insurance and Wealth Management offering and Financial Advice strategy to ensure the business is well-positioned for future growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cowan joins ClearView from ANZ Global Wealth where she was Head of CIO Governance and will report to ClearView Managing Director, Simon Swanson<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was also previously Head of Compliance at BlackRock Australia from 2010 to 2014 and held a number of senior compliance roles at Challenger Financial Services Group from 2003 to 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the appointments, Swanson said: \u201cGreg is an experienced professional who is passionate about promoting the long-term sustainability of the industry and strengthened consumer protections. I have valued his counsel and advice as Chief Actuary and Risk Officer for the past eight years and I look forward to working with him in his new role.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He noted the appointment of Cowan will strengthen the group\u2019s leadership team, during an important period for the company.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOrla brings with her significant experience in financial and non-financial risk management, compliance and governance,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n
