{"id":47384,"date":"2019-11-29T15:56:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-29T04:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=47384"},"modified":"2019-12-04T06:22:57","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T19:22:57","slug":"breaking-paper-with-future-digital-soa-fpa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2019\/11\/29\/breaking-paper-with-future-digital-soa-fpa\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Breaking Paper\u2019 With Future Digital SoA &#8211; FPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Digital Statements of Advice are key to improving the advice experience, says Financial Planning Association of Australia CEO, <strong>Dante De Gori<\/strong>, following the release of research findings conducted by its Future of the Statement of Advice Working Group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_47322\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47322\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/11\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47322\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/11\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-47322\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FPA CEO, Dante De Gori &#8230;looking at the future of advice delivery<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Presented at the 2019 FPA Professionals Congress in Melbourne, the findings showed examples of technology and services available that can help financial planners develop more meaningful client experiences during the advice process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cBy adopting technology to deliver advice in a smarter, safer, and more efficient way, the best client outcomes can be reached,\u201d said De Gori.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe future of financial advice delivery will be one where every client is given their own individual, tailored experience based on their unique communication and behavioural preferences.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He added: \u201cIt will harness the power of appropriate digital technology solutions to make the experience a meaningful and more engaging one for the client. It<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u2019s about prioritising what\u2019s best for the client, rather simply ticking compliance and legal requirements.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;&#8230;make the experience a meaningful and more engaging one for the client.&#8221;<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Future of the SoA working group aims to create a vision of what the future SoA could look and feel like and consists of financial planning professionals including members, regulators, compliance experts, lawyers, licensees, content and digital media specialists, and advice technology specialists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The FPA stated the current bulky SoA printouts or lengthy PDFs that clients receive contribute to a less than engaging client experience and makes it difficult for them to fully understand the information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">FPA Head of Policy &amp; Standards, <strong>Ben Marshan<\/strong>, says they explored how technology can be harnessed to improve the advice experience and progress the evolution of the SoA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNumerous consumer behavioural finance research reports identify that the long-form, text-heavy way that SoAs are provided to clients does not match up with the way that a large majority of people best digest and understand complex information,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The FPA stated it has been working with fintech companies to create digital SoA technology and has conducted consumer testing on digital SoA examples and all consumers tested preferred a digital SoA and the ability to engage with and learn from their advice rather than read paper based SoAs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As a result of its research, the FPA has concluded modes of communication such as video, audio, imagery, infographics, graphs and even quizzes are very effective ways to deliver advice.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt\u2019s about \u2018breaking paper&#8217;&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOur vision for the near future is to enable clients to engage with their own personal, interactive, real-time financial plan, in a secure portal or on a smartphone app,\u201d said Marshan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt\u2019s about \u2018breaking paper\u2019 \u2013 we must utilise the full breadth of digital, tech and communication modes available to allow advice delivery to be more accessible, personalised and meaningful for clients.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Digital Statements of Advice are key to improving the advice experience, says Financial Planning Association of Australia CEO, Dante De Gori, following the release of research findings conducted by its Future of the Statement of Advice Working Group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[282,7],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-47384","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-associations","category-technology"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/47384","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/20"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=47384"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/47384\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=47384"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=47384"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=47384"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
