{"id":47386,"date":"2019-11-29T16:00:47","date_gmt":"2019-11-29T05:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=47386"},"modified":"2019-12-04T06:20:53","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T19:20:53","slug":"fpa-releases-evolution-of-advice-discussion-paper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2019\/11\/29\/fpa-releases-evolution-of-advice-discussion-paper\/","title":{"rendered":"FPA Releases Evolution of Advice Discussion Paper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Financial Planning Association of Australia has released a new discussion paper on the evolution of advice over the next five years and opened consultation on its proposed new policy platform, which it expects to release in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_47322\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47322\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/11\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47322\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2019\/11\/Dante-De-Gori_FPA-CEO-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-47322\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FPA CEO, Dante De Gori &#8230;<span class=\"s1\">evolving our vision for the financial planning profession<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The paper, titled Evolution of Advice: The Financial Planning Profession from 2020 to 2025, explores the major issues that will affect the profession during this time, including the affordability of advice, how financial planners interact with their clients and the health of the profession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The FPA stated it will be asking members to contribute their views over the next month via its new FPA Community online forum with member feedback forming the basis of the Association\u2019s new policy initiatives for the next five years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Referring to an FPA white paper from 2014, FPA Chief Executive, <strong>Dante De Gori<\/strong>, says <\/span><span class=\"s1\">its advocacy has resulted in nine of the ten key milestones listed being adopted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNow we must look to the future and evolve our vision for the financial planning profession over the next five years,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNow we must look to the future&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhile the profession is going through a period of rapid change, Australians\u2019 demand for high quality, independent and affordable financial advice remains undiminished.
