{"id":51839,"date":"2020-08-27T10:10:02","date_gmt":"2020-08-27T00:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=51839"},"modified":"2020-08-27T11:24:04","modified_gmt":"2020-08-27T01:24:04","slug":"afa-conference-live-on-demand-and-cpd-accredited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2020\/08\/27\/afa-conference-live-on-demand-and-cpd-accredited\/","title":{"rendered":"AFA Conference \u2013 Live, On-Demand and CPD-Accredited"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AFA has announced that its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afaconference.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AFA VISION Conference<\/a>, which runs from 14-15 October, 2020, will be broadcast live to delegates and complemented by more than 25 on-demand, CPD-accredited industry presentations.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the association says that keynote and panel sessions from the conference will be hosted on a main stage in a state-of-the-art television-style Sydney studio and broadcast live to delegates across the country.<\/p>\n<p>AFA CEO <strong>Philip Kewin<\/strong> says that as the major event on the AFA calendar, the conference is an integral part of the organisation\u2019s \u00a0vision for a brighter future.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_50008\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50008\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/05\/Phil-Kewin.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-50008\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/05\/Phil-Kewin.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-50008\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AFA CEO Phil Kewin &#8230; Delegates will\u00a0 have four-month access to the sessions and associated content, meaning they will be able to tailor their own viewing schedule&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He says this year represents a rare opportunity to deliver a quality conference in what are uniquely difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are therefore very pleased to be able to offer an innovative approach to virtual conferencing which we believe brings the delegate experience to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The live component of the AFA Conference will be complemented by more than 25 on-demand industry presentations, all of which will be CPD-accredited.<\/p>\n<p>Delegates will also have four-month access to the conference sessions and associated content, meaning they will be able to tailor their own viewing schedule.<\/p>\n<p>AFA Conference Chair, <strong>Dave Slovinec<\/strong>, says this year\u2019s format allows many more people in the advice community to participate in the AFA Conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a practising adviser I know first-hand the disruption that our community is experiencing,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; Those tuning in will be able to access the inspiration, the knowledge, and the tools to set their vision &#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBut I also know that disruption is paving the way for transformation and bringing with it new opportunities. Those tuning in to this year\u2019s AFA Conference will be able to access the inspiration, the knowledge, and the tools to set their vision and take their businesses to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Master of Ceremonies is <strong>Nigel Collin<\/strong>, who has hosted live conferences and events as well as worked on screen for more than 20 years. He says the conference will be produced in a similar way to a professional TV production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe virtual online format of the AFA Conference creates a new and exciting dynamic,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to being live on the main stage in Sydney, for two days, introducing industry leaders, key regulators and motivating keynote speakers to the AFA community.
