{"id":53110,"date":"2020-11-17T12:34:18","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T02:34:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=53110"},"modified":"2020-11-17T12:34:18","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T02:34:18","slug":"ascent-private-wealth-joins-count-financial-member-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2020\/11\/17\/ascent-private-wealth-joins-count-financial-member-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Ascent Private Wealth Joins Count Financial Member Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.count.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Count Financial<\/a> has announced that Melbourne-based advice practice <a href=\"http:\/\/ascentpw.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ascent Private Wealth<\/a> has decided to join its advice network.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from Count Financial says this continues the CountPlus-owned licensee\u2019s growth strategy and that since January this year Count Financial has recruited more than 50 new financial advisers to its revamped national financial advice network.<\/p>\n<p>It says that<strong> Mark O\u2019Toole<\/strong> founded Ascent and the firm has been part of the Godfrey Pembroke network since 2001.<\/p>\n<p>He has 27 years\u2019 experience as a senior financial adviser and has held key leadership roles throughout his career \u2013 most notably as a former Director of the Financial Planning Association and then as founding Chair of Godfrey Pembroke\u2019s Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53118\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53118\" style=\"width: 165px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/11\/Mark-Otoole-e1605152788231.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-53118\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/11\/Mark-Otoole-e1605152788231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-53118\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mark O&#8217;Toole &#8230;27 years\u2019 experience as a senior financial adviser&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The statement says that Ascent\u2019s decision to join Count Financial comes after IOOF announced the acquisition of MLC\u2019s advice businesses (which includes Godfrey Pembroke) in August 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Kennedy,<\/strong> Chief Advice Officer at Count Financial, says the appointment of Ascent was a boost for the licensee which continues to target quality advice firms to join its network.<\/p>\n<p>He says O\u2019Toole is one of the leaders in financial advice in Australia and his experience and knowledge speaks for itself.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy adds that O&#8217;Toole has always advocated for the best outcomes for clients and that Count Financial is delighted to have him and the Ascent team coming onboard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Count Financial has announced that Melbourne-based advice practice Ascent Private Wealth has decided to join its advice network.
