MLC Life Insurance<\/a> has appointed Michael Rogers<\/strong> as its Chief Life Insurance Officer, overseeing the company\u2019s insurance operations and delivery to customers, advisers, and superannuation funds.<\/p>\n

A statement from the company says that Rogers will officially join MLC Life Insurance on 27 January and replace outgoing Chief Life Insurance Officer, Sean McCormack,*<\/strong> who will leave the life insurer on 26 February.<\/p>\n

Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer, Rodney Cook<\/strong>, Rogers will lead the Life Insurance Team, responsible for\u202fthe\u202fcompany’s\u202fgroup and retail distribution channels, underwriting, operations, pricing, product, brand and marketing units.<\/p>\n

Michael Rogers has spent more than 15 years in general manager and director positions in life insurance and wealth management…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The company says he is an experienced financial services executive, having worked in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has spent more than 15 years in general manager and director positions in life insurance and wealth management, specifically with AXA in Australia and the UK, as well as AMP.<\/p>\n

He was also General Manager for Insurance at QSuper, where he led the design and implementation of its start-up insurance company, QInsure.<\/p>\n

Cook says Roger\u2019s appointment will be instrumental in supporting the company\u2019s strategic direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael\u2019s appointment, in addition to the recent capital injection from Nippon Life and NAB, demonstrates that we are on the right path, despite the fast-changing operating environment we face.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we acknowledge that we have work to do to rebuild positive relationships with our advice partners after our service deteriorated following the recent technology upgrade, we are confident that, once overcome, we will deliver a superior service over time,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a fast-changing operating environment, which has been exacerbated by the impacts of Covid-19, we are setting ourselves up to be sustainable in the long-term, meaning we will continue to deliver on the promises we make to our customers and business partners. Today\u2019s appointment shows we are doing this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers says he is delighted to be joining MLC Life Insurance at such a critical time for the company and the life insurance industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m aware of the challenges we face as a business after a difficult 2020. We need to work hard to restore trust amongst advisers and licensees and our team is ready to do that.”<\/p>\n
