The Association of Financial Advisers has appointed experienced New Zealand executive, Helen Morgan-Banda<\/strong> as its new Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n

Described as an accomplished CEO of member associations, Morgan-Banda will join the AFA from her current post as CEO of the Law Society of New Zealand. Prior to her tenure at Law Society of New Zealand, Morgan-Banda was CEO of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.<\/p>\n

Incoming AFA CEO, Helen Morgan-Banda …a strong strategic fit for the AFA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Giving context to this appointment as a ‘strong strategic fit’, AFA National President, Michael Nowak<\/strong>, has noted that in these two roles, Morgan-Banda “…has managed significant disruption akin to that being experienced by financial advisers.” Nowak added that through the interview process she has “…demonstrated a deep understanding of the issues being faced by our members and partners.”<\/p>\n

Morgan-Banda’s appointment will see AFA General Manager Policy & Professionalism<\/span>, <\/span>Phil Anderson, <\/strong>who has also held the Acting CEO role since the departure of Phil Kewin<\/strong>, continue in his GM role, in which Nowak notes Anderson <\/span>will continue to play a critical role advocating with regulators, Government and other industry bodies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Morgan-Banda, who has also held corporate affairs positions with the New Zealand businesses of ANZ and AMP, will relocate to Sydney from Wellington and commence with the AFA from 2 August.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
